I am a professional photographer, registered nurse, and musician from Richmond, VA. I have several years of experience in the photography industry and have photographed major artists like Logic, Wiz Khalifa, J.I.D., Cordae, Rubi Rose, and Masego. I have also photographed local events, concerts, brands, private events, couples, babies, models, animals, you name it! I also capture video with my camera and GoPro. I love taking candid photos and use my 35 mm film cameras almost every day. Photography and music have been passions of mine since I was a kid and have allowed me to connect with some of the most extraordinary people. I love capturing those golden moments in life as well as collaborating with other artists.
The meaning behind my business name, Sona Photos, stems from my heritage. I am from south India and my nickname is Sona which means “gold” in Hindi. Sona (Gold) Photos was an idea I had because I always valued pictures from my childhood that included some of the people who aren’t in my life anymore or who passed away. I love reminiscing on special or even simple moments from my life, which engrained the importance of making memories last forever through pictures. Therefore, I created the slogan “capturing golden moments” from my brand name. We only get to live these moments once and I believe it’s important to document them as often as we can. I take photos to ensure that we have something to hold onto when memory fades.
